MOT Testing
Car owners, especially those who own vehicles over three years old, should be familiar with MOT test. MOT stands for Ministry Of Transport, and the MOT test is a vehicular examination which all vehicles aging over three years old must undergo. This test is required by law. The goal of this test is to ensure that the vehicle is working properly and is not likely to be a cause of an accident.
In an MOT test, parts of the vehicle are being checked and tested without having the tester to take the vehicle apart when carrying out the test. Included in the list of parts being tested are the steering, suspension, seatbelts, horn, exhaust system, emission, identification numbers, lights, brakes, windscreen, number plates and mirrors. Since MOT tests are closely regulated by the VOSA, a car owner must bear in mind that only authorized stations carrying the VOSA MOT logo can test the vehicle. The logo is quite easy to distinguish as it is a logo with a blue background and with three white triangles pointing inwards.
By accessing the internet, one can easily find testing stations near his area that carry the VOSA MOT logo. One can even book an MOT test schedule through online booking.
