The Combination of Art and Craft

Nobody said that you need to be a well known painter, a talented sculptor, a great dancer, a gifted musician and an exceptional poet to create art. In your own special way, you can also create art by doing things of your interests such as taking pictures, designing your home, creating a homemade video, and even cooking your favorite food.

Many people nowadays make use of crafts as ways of self expression. There is a very fine line that distinguishes crafts from arts that people could hardly make a distinction. Perhaps this is because both crafts and arts express what beauty and humanity are all about. Usually, art is a combination of creating beauty and capturing moments in life as well as feelings while crafts involve putting together some raw materials in order to come up with a finished product. However, there are instances that crafts and arts go together, making them hard to distinguish from each other.

Making cards for instance is a good example of the combination of art and craft. It is an art in the sense that the card is the medium that makes life easier to see and to appreciate. It is also a craft in the sense that card makers combine tangible materials such as cardboard, textured paper, crafting strings, and pictures to create a card.
